JAMCAL Alimentación,
S.A. is located in Calamocha (Teruel - Spain), the
heart of the region of Jiloca. Calamocha is an emblematic town
of the “Denomination of Origin Teruel ham”. It is
located 900 meters above sea level, near the A23 motorway at
the point where the Roman road linking Córdoba-Zaragoza
passed 200 years ago. Calamocha is a mandatory stop for all
those travelers heading to the coast of Valencia, 71 km from
Teruel and 110 kilometers from the regional capital of Zaragoza.
Its altitude and isolation of marine influences make this town
reach extreme temperatures of 25 degrees below zero in winter
and 35 degree heat in summer. Calamocha has the ideal climate
for the production of hams and shoulders, including hams with
“Designation of Origin Teruel Ham”.
The Agroalimentary Complex is located in the
N-234, in the municipality of Calamocha. The complex is located
about 1 km from the town center.
Calamocha is the head of the county called Jiloca. Currently
Calamocha has an approximate population of 4,000 inhabitants.
It is situated in the valley of Jiloca, on the axis linking
the north of Spain and the Mediterranean, halfway between the
cities of Teruel and Zaragoza. The distance to Teruel, the nearest
city, is 71 kms, and the distance to Zaragoza is 110 kms. The
railway line Valencia-Zaragoza passes through the village. The
nearest airport is in Zaragoza, and the nearest seaport is at
215 kms, in Valencia.
Calamocha is betting on the food industry, mainly in meat products,
and the main product is Teruel’s ham.

settle here are from meat sector, mainly they work the pork
manufacturing products.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT
The complex is located 1 km from the village, next to the road
in an area of cereal cultivation. The aesthetic of the buildings
do not adversely alter the visual perception of the landscape.
Regarding the possible environmental impact caused by the activities,
they are not disrupted, unhealthy or harmful.
The noise generated by machines or trucks do not create disturbances
in the population, due to the distance at which it is located.
